About:
The OpenDBX libraries provide a unified and
consistent API for software developers to
different database management systems. The C and
C++ libraries aim to implement access to the
native database interfaces efficiently via a thin
abstraction layer. They consist of a basic set of
functions that are part of all vendor database
libraries and can be extended by additional
function blocks. Currently, Firebird/Interbase, MS
SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite 2
and 3, and Sybase ASE are supported.
Release focus: Major feature enhancements
Changes:
The OpenDBX library now compiles on Windows NT
based systems using either the Cygwin or MinGW
environment. Also, the library specification was
improved and doesn't allow the backends to return
errors any more if odbx_result() or
odbx_row_fetch() is called once more after they
already returned DONE. With adding the
Conn::finish(), Result::finish(), and Lob::close()
methods, the C++ API is now considered complete.
Simplifying the API was continued by making more
parameters optional. The C++ API now contains
inline documentation in Javadoc format.
