[»] Compare to openvpn
by Damjan - Aug 22nd 2005 07:39:29

What's better in xvpnd than openvpn?
OpenVpn can use tap devices to bridge networks on layer 2. It's fairly stable having several revisions and it works on several OSes including Windows.

While openvpn is a full VPN solution, xvpnd was designed to be used along an existing IPSec VPN. Thus xvpnd does not provide any security services.

One of the main asset of xvpnd is that it can be installed transparently in an existing IPSec VPN.

Xvpnd only runs on linux and openbsd for the moment, but we are working on supporting more OSes.

    Regards,
    Jonathan.
