About:
xmbmon is a monitoring program for motherboards which can monitor the
CPU temperatures and the frequency of CPU cooling fans, etc. The
package includes "mbmon", which can be used at the commandline to
report the temperatures, voltages, and RPM (rounds per minute) of the
fans, and "xmbmon", which displays the three temperatures and a core
voltage as simple curves.

This is such an awesome little program
by Christian Reis - Dec 3rd 2003 16:18:55
I've been wrestling with kernel patches for lm_sensors for a couple of
years now, and I guess I was just convinced that we needed kernel support
for reading temperature, fan speeds and voltages from our motherboards.
How untrue! mbmon and xmbmon are a trivial ./configure ; make away, and
they do *exactly* what I need, which is producing readings in a simple
text-based format. It is definitely one of the more undersung bits of
software available for Linux -- don't miss it!
