About:
swpkg is a collection of tools which allow a system administrator to build, install, and maintain software packages on a system. It is based on a
fairly simple philosophy intended to simplify the management of third party software and their inter-dependencies.

you should look into making your software compatable with the encap
package management system, seeing as how similar your schemes are.

The short answer to this is that while similar, encap and swpkg are also
quite different, to a point that makes compatibility difficult to achieve
(if at all possible) and somewhat pointless.
I knew of encap when i started writing swpkg (and it is mentioned in the
"Related Work" page). It did not stop me because i also knew
then that i would never be satisfied with it.
