About:
PLplot is a library of C functions that are useful for making
scientific plots from programs written in C, C++, Fortran, Octave,
Python, and Tcl/Tk. It can be used to create standard x-y plots,
semi-log plots, log-log plots, contour plots, 3D plots, shade
(gray-scale and color) plots, mesh plots, bar charts, and pie
charts. Multiple graphs (of the same or different sizes) may be placed
on a single page with multiple lines in each graph. Different line
styles, widths, and colors are supported. A virtually infinite number
of distinct area fill patterns may be used. There are almost 1,000
characters in the extended character set, including four different
fonts, the Greek alphabet, and a host of mathematical, musical, and
other symbols. The fonts can be scaled to any desired size. A variety
of output devices and file formats are supported, including a metafile
format which can be subsequently rendered to any device/file. New
devices and file formats can be easily added by writing a driver
routine.

Source and binary rpm's for RedHat 7.1 released for PLplot 5.0.3
by Alan W. Irwin - May 16th 2001 22:41:21
Look for plplot-5.0.3-4.src.rpm and plplot-5.0.3-4.i386.rpm
in the file release area of
http://sourceforge.net/projects/plplot/. The RedHat 6.2
version of these rpm's are plplot-5.0.3-1.src.rpm and
plplot-5.0.3-1.i386.rpm, but the RH 7.1 versions are much
more complete. For more information see the detailed
announcement at
