About:
Olive is a GNU/Linux live distribution which uses
several unusual technologies, as well as some of
the more common pieces of software. The init
scripts use a new scripting langugage, and run in
parallel for faster start-up, while satisfying
dependencies. It uses the UniPKG package manager,
a compressed ramdisk, Keith Packard's X server,
and many features of the 2.6 series of kernels.
Olive is designed to display how easy to use Linux
may be, yet without losing any of the features
required for heavy-duty work.
